Daisuke Nakajima

Founder, BŌKEN Sake

Born and raised in Japan and spending much of his youth in Tokyo, Daisuke Nakajima traveled to the United States to complete his undergrad and graduate degrees in Economics and Applied Statistics at Brown University and Columbia University respectively. Residing in the US for his work, Daisuke would travel frequently to his home country; hosting American colleagues on business trips. None of these trips were complete without sharing sake over a delicious Japanese meal.

BŌKEN Dreams

During my frequent travels to Japan with American clients for business, I always made it a point to end our busy days with a delightful sushi dinner paired with sake.

These evenings were more than just business obligations; they were precious opportunities to forge deeper connections, enjoying each other's company, and immersing ourselves in the moment, leaving work behind for a few precious hours. As we sipped and savored, I witnessed the joy on their faces as they discovered the exquisite flavors of sake—often exclaiming, "Wow, I never knew sake could be this delicious!"

Those shared experiences became the heartbeat of BŌKEN. Inspired by the warmth and camaraderie of those memorable dinners, I embarked on a journey to recreate them and share my favorite beverage with friends, family, and loved ones.

BŌKEN isn't just about the sake; it's about fostering meaningful connections, creating lasting memories, and embracing the simple joys of life together.
